In the fall, we like to go glamping in a tiny cabin with private bathroom, full tiny kitchen, heating and A/C. I do writing sprints at the picnic table, enjoying the feel of the PNW woods all around me and Corbin hopes for campfire cooking tasty treats.

Matthew J. Drake took me to Ireland and we spent time at Trinity College Dublin, seeing the Book of Kells and walking through the Old Library. Old stories and legends whispered through the quiet spaces as we stopped to rest and just soak in the feel of the place.

This flash fiction short story holds so many memories, from my first invitation to write in an anthology edited by @j_r_blackwell to my first vacation to explore Seattle with Matthew J. Drake to a quirky interaction with two random soldiers who walked into a romance book signing to find PJ Schnyder.

On a visit to Japan, I took my partner to an onsen in Odaiba. A bit touristy, but this one was special because it was the first onsen I’d ever visited.

A visit to an onsen didn’t fit into the plot of Fangs So Bright and Deadly but I had notes that might turn into a bonus scene.

Visits to Wat Phra Kaew within the Grand Palace in Bangkok always fill my mind with story inspirations because every building is surrounded with various figures from Thai mythology.

Proof of life… which was touch and go. Admitted to ER day before I was supposed to fly to US for a clinical trial. If I’d tried to “tough it out” I wouldn’t have survived the international flight.
My #cancer had progressed.

Seattle's energy always inspires stories for me and we visited many times before we made the city our home. Post Alley is the setting for my first short story set in Seattle...during a zombie apocalypse. Title? Remember My Name.

Snorkeling in Hawaii is an activity I try to do with each visit, as long as I feel well enough. Siren's Calling was so much fun to write because of how much I enjoy time in the water.

I've been to New Zealand once, way back in 2010 for a day job biz trip, and I've wanted to go back for a visit ever since. Dinner here overlooking Mission Bay was maybe one of my favorite moments of the trip.

Starting to watch Spy x Family after years of friends recommending it to me and I’m guessing this is going to tug at me in all my Found Family ways.

… why my friends recc’d this series in relation to how they perceive me is worth a chuckle

The London Underground, particularly Notting Hill Gate, was a key setting for Sing for the Dead in my London Shifters series. I've ridden the tube a few times and this is the stop I'm most familiar with, but it's a different experience in the book.

Visiting Egypt with @ktempestbradford.com & Alethea Kontis involved climbing through seven pyramids in & around Cairo. We talked about history & mythology throughout, which led to much of the inspiration behind the Egyptian myth and magic in FANGS SO BRIGHT AND DEADLY.

Whenever I visit London, I try to take a walk through Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens.

I love the Peter Pan statue here. This is featured in a scene of London Shifters with a few differences in the way one might experience walking through those spaces.
