One of my favourite Michael Bywater quotes is from his development notes for a computer game: "PUZZLE 1... WARNING: this is a nasty trick puzzle because if you solve it, you lose the game".

The man understood life! Very sorry he's no longer with us. I wasn't done talking to him yet.

You know what I love about @scrivenerapp.bsky.social? It's that in the Release Notes they use words like "erstwhile." (They missed a trick, though, by omitting, "we daresay.")
