I can also do arms race dynamics with my model. This is an old run, of the red queen being chased through genome space. Do you see Punctuated Equilibrium? perhaps it's in the eye of the beholder. I was also curious to see if the red queen has momentum, perhaps we could weigh her! #Alife

Apple these days. “We’ve changed/camouflaged the send button on mail”.
Why? Why? Do we need to re-learn where the send button is?

We’re getting a lot of tomatoes out the garden. Beef steak tomatoes are my favourite. I think we might have a bit of an over supply

In a tiny island north of shimane on the Sea of Japan. An American boat builder built a boat shop for the lost kids of Japan to learn boat building. I was hoping to visit this year. Sadly it burned down losing the boats and tools .But they’re planning to rebuild. gofund.me/0a5d946b8

Playing around with branching flow in random ECA fields. Using a 5 bit rule but only the first 256 rules. Surprisingly this produces dendrites but using the whole 4 billion rules doesn't. No idea why, some left to right bias, need to play some more. #complexity

After the storm, at snells beach we had heaps of sea grass washed up the beach. In some places you can see it slowly breaking down in to an oozy like substance that’s slowly washing back on to the sandy flats.

Branched Flow Simulation using a random ECA rule field with a random initial string flowing through identical random ECA fields for each rep. Superimposition of 1000 reps, each one with a different input strings. Can you see flows? It appears that the randomness decreases going down the field.

I wonder if AI generated images actually make you feel a little nauseous, if you see a drawing of a cat playing a guitar or a puppet doing the same, your brain knows it’s fake but a when your brain sees realistic images of the unreal, perhaps it thinks you eaten poison and should vomit quick.

One of my corn plants is a bit confused it’s a mixed sex inflorescence by the look of it. I haven’t touched it at all so the kernels are naturally exposed.

Waka PikoPiko. Wide foil second test
youtu.be/GQN4qEWXt0A I’ve been playing around with WDP wave devouring propulsion. Very hard to be sure it’s working. Small effects, high variation, observer bias, reminds me of medical research days ;-)

Met this dog on the beach. Lovely young pup, I thought. “How old I asked” “14” the owner replied “weeks?” No, years it turned out. You could see that once it stood up and walked. The neoteny is strong in this one. Someone should checkout its DNA.

I’m very sensitive to musty tastes, like that of stale bread. Some bananas taste stale. I can’t eat Dole bananas because they taste musty all the time. It’s weird because they’re all cavendish AFAIk. Wonder where the taste come from.

Went to my fourth sea kayakers funeral in the last 18 months. Dave was a bull of a man. He could hardly breath due to an accident, and had diabetes. He’d had over 200 general anesthetics in his life. Yet despite being 10 years older than me, he would over take me every time.

We have one surviving chick at Snells beach. The problem is cats. If we can make endangered species a status symbol the home owners will kill their own cats for capital gain, win win.

Bending aluminium tube is a bigger. You need a mandrill to stop it collapsing. One of the reasons it difficult is because it doesn’t change colour when it heats up so you can’t tell if it’s hot enough to bend or melt. Never thought about that before.

youtu.be/aT8PxvJEH3o?... love that expressions “that’s some showa bullshit” One of the downsides of having a queen live so long is that her reign doesn’t really describe a cultural era. “That’s some Elizabethan bullshit” doesn’t really have the same feel.

I’ve never been a gardener, despite two degrees in botany. Mum was a great gardener she lived to 100 and dad to 102. I often wonder how much of that was because of the abundant harvest from her labour. So I’ve decided to follow in her footsteps but not because I like gardening.
