I watched a Jackson Browne concert from 1976 and liked two things separate from the actual music:
- Most of his songs have many lines that could spawn whole other songs
- Playing fiddle, lap steel, or Telecaster, David Lindley sounds exactly like David Lindley

I watched a Jackson Browne concert from 1976 and liked two things separate from the actual music:
- Most of his songs have many lines that could spawn whole other songs
- Playing fiddle, lap steel, or Telecaster, David Lindley sounds exactly like David Lindley

A good friend died recently and, on top of the immediate sorrow, I'm reminded of another who died less than two years ago.

As bands go, Strawbs were an unpredictable bunch. I don't know as much of their music as I should, but some of the early/mid 70s albums were favourites.

As bands go, Strawbs were an unpredictable bunch. I don't know as much of their music as I should, but some of the early/mid 70s albums were favourites.

Having disabled reposts in what I see here, I think I've reduced the "firehose" effect to a tolerable level.
It would be nice if a site could show reposts only once but, failing that, zero is acceptable.

I heard that we lost Mike Brewer yesterday. Brewer & Shipley were responsible for some of my favourite music in the early 1970s and remained fine musicians and, especially, entertainers over a long career.
