It being OCR* week, this is a very good and timely article by my friend Paul on how to deal with rejection as a screenwriter. His point that there should be more bald Welsh writers in the industry also hits the mark...

*Open Call Rejection
BBC Writers asked me to write a blog about rejection, as yesterday they began the task of letting down the 5,000+ writers who applied to the Open Call, and had a fair amount of abuse about it.

Stirring stuff from Trump.
‘We’ve been tough on the Houthis. These were people shooting down ships, and other things by the way! Flying objects.. like aeroplanes…’

Completely agree. He was a poet. I never thought Bill McLaren would be matched, but Eddie managed it. Not sure we’ll see that quality again. 😞

We were regularly beating Scotland and Ireland throughout that period so were around 6th or 7th in the world, as opposed to a clear and deserved 12th now. But yes, your point stands, Welsh rugby isn’t dead, just very, very ill!

I agree we’ll be back one day, but we’ve never actually been this low. This is, by a country mile, worse than anything in the 1990’s.

The cognitive dissonance of saying the Welsh boys left it all out there and played commendably in a 68-14 home defeat.

But they really did.

How are England winning these matches when they are clearly second best? Only one man will be able to find out…

Great first page, lots of energy and comedic tone set. Deffo makes you want more. Is it a completed feature? Pilot?

The title and trailer didn’t fill me with hope, but ep.1 of #PrimeTarget has been a huge surprise. Superb television on all levels!

A day of two managers. Potter (who I like, btw) has 'pragmatism and a commitment to flexibility' whereas David Moyes 'is a risk, as he doesn't have a defined approach' .

Then, the gloriously reductive... 'David Moyes' claim to fame is that he managed Paul Gascoigne 22 years ago'.

Take a bow, son!
