I had been trying to find out more regarding this civil contempt in Minnesota, and an update in the Fox9 report from Paul Blume (whose tweets are below) suggests the gov't miraculously found the man's ID documents quickly after the civil contempt finding. www.fox9.com/news/federal...
Provinzino ordered Isihara to pay daily fines of $500 for everyday Soto Jimenez does not have his identifications moving forward. The fines start accruing on Thursday. In an update Wednesday night, Soto Jimenez's attorney says the government has since provided a tracking number for overnight delivery of his identification paperwork. They expect to have the documents in hand on Thursday, and that would nullify any fines imposed by Judge Provinzino.
