"Never Flinch" by Stephen King 💙📚
This really bums me out to say, but I was disappointed in this one. I think it might be time to retire Holly Gibney.

I feel as though the powers that be in Colorado may have read @bengoldfarb.bsky.social latest book "Crossings: How Road Ecology Is Shaping the Future of Our Planet" and are taking it to heart.

Colorado Is Building the 'World's Largest' Wildlife Overpass, Giving Elk and Other Big Creatures a Safe Path to Cross a Busy Freeway
The completed overpass will be 200 feet wide by 209 feet long, forming a bridge across six lanes of traffic that see more than 100,000 vehicles each day

I just finished this gem, "On the Beach", by Nevil Shute. Good stuff if you're into the end of the world. I would love some recommendations that are of a similar theme and written around the same time period of the late 1950's. Thanks.📚💙

When all of the other birds flit about, never perching for more than a mere second, cruelly mocking me & my camera, a sympathetic House Sparrow sits patiently waiting to be noticed. 🪶🦉

"In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote
I finally got around to reading this wonderful classic. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys true crime non-fiction. 📚💙

This photo was from a few springs ago. I absolutely love these snarky little birds and am looking forward to their arrival.

Black-chinned Hummingbird 🦉
One of my favorite pictures from the archives. The hummingbirds have yet to arrive in my part of the globe, but they should be here very soon.

Dandelions help to fertilise top-soil. Their deep roots bring nutrients to the surface, which helps shallow-rooted plants to thrive.
The nectar and pollen of these cheerful native wildflowers are vital food for many early Spring insects.
Please don’t weed out these useful flowers!

“The Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafón is a book about books; a story about stories. This book is about sadness; love lost and love found, heartbreaking loneliness, hope and redemption. The writing is beautiful and Zafón is a wonderful storyteller. 📚💙

This isn't a regular visitor to my yard so I geeked out pretty hard trying to get some photos. I wasn't able to get a single shot without a branch in the way, hopefully I'll get another chance.
