My screen name covers some of it, except the part about being a progressive, middle-aged, white guy with young kids.

Things that make me happy (don't read into the order... too much): 🌊🏄🏽🤙🏽🏖️🌅 🌈♀️⚧️☮️♂️ 🐯🐕😻🐬🐳 🎷🎸🎹 🌝⭐🌠☄️ 🗺️

Four things I skeet a lot about right now:
1. We outnumber them
2. I want to know who the alleged abusers are in the files
3. Following orders you know are illegal does not absolve you of guilt
4. Due to the season, beachy things. Waves, sunsets (once the time starts working out), maybe some birds
And now for today's. There was a perfect keyhole for the sun at the horizon. And nice color off to the south

I forgot to post yesterday's sunset. And it was something!

Impossible as it may be to believe, I am reading The Outsiders by S E Hinton for the first time. I just read "the only thing that keeps Darry from being a Soc is us" and... my goodness... what a book

I don't know why they call it the pitter pat of little feet. In my house it has sounded like a herd of elephants for a decade and a half

In between rain showers the sun sent some rays onto the storm swept ocean, near sunset. Not surprisingly, no green flash tonight

This is why they recommend not surfing for 3 days after a rain. That brown streak a half mile out to sea is runoff. Obviously not everyone follows the advice

Ladies and Gentlemen, President of the United States:
Don’t break up on social media, kids. It’s just plain rude.

No wind all day today and the swell is apparently building. The surf was firing this evening. I saw a buddy (no idea what his name is but we chat in the lineup regularly) catch the best wave I've seen yet this season. I didn't get out today, but glad to see a friend having a good session

Judge is a great player, but Cal Raleigh had the best ever season by a catcher and should have been the MVP. Bad enough that the oligarch teams dominate the sport. They shouldn't geta leg up in post-season awards too.

I'm not sure I get this "funniest thing" meme, but let's give it a shot

Bill Clinton has a chance to do the funniest thing right now

The ocean was surprisingly pretty this morning. We got ~0.1" of rain overnight, so the storm is here. But an offshore breeze was grooming the waves, which were good size, but too straight on to provide any corners

Even with all the other BS going on in the world, I am seriously pissed at the BBWAA for choosing Judge over the Big Dumper. When the aech eee double hockey sticks is the baseball intelligentsia going to realize more than 90% of baseball fans live outside of the 5 Burroughs and the LA basin?

Not much of a sunset tonight, but the incoming storm is producing some cool looking clouds

As an adoptive parent, I can say with credibility that, while you have to adapt to adopt, they are not the same word

Spectacular sunset tonight. The sun was only visible for a few minutes, as the marine layer blocked it until just above the horizon. Even with this ridiculous color, there was a distinct green flash. First time the 10 yo has seen it. And then the sky caught fire, but my phone couldn't capture it

Keep posting sky pictures, I like being reminded that we're all piles of carbon screaming through space on a rock and we're all just hanging on and hoping for the best.

So I thought Bluesky was mostly about baseball, but then... Northern Lights!

Not much of a sunset tonight. Apparently storm's a comin'. It'll be good to get some rain

Today's example: Joyce Carol Oates dragging Elon Musk's soul out through his eyeballs and wringing it out to see if any humanity leaked out. Spoiler alert: it didn't
One thing I like about Bluesky (it's my first real social media foray, so forgive me if I'm being naive) is that I will read a score of skeets I don't understand and then I will hit critical mass with a single skeet that ties it all together and all the previously confusing skeets now make sense

Am I understanding this correctly? SCOTUS did something right? But I can't be happy even for a second because Dems in the Senate blundered their advantage? They can't manage to do anything right, can they?
