This is a virtuous loop, because I get catharsis _and_ avoid publishing half baked thoughts

Americans, how is your day to day life? The news selects for the worst of it, but what is the average day for you?

Guess those “51st state” threats are starting to feel a little more credible now.

After nigh 3 weeks of being on vacation and thinking about statistics on the margin, I am certain this is the way humans were meant to live and that work is pee pee poo poo

I don’t want to seem ungrateful, but I’ve never really seen the appeal of RSUs.

I much prefer cash compensation as opposed to deferred cash, subject to withholding taxes, which may or may not be worth as much as I’m told today, subject to decisions I have no way of influencing.

Reflecting on this past year, I've found myself -- more than once -- threatening to no one in particular to stop consulting all together.

Going to the pub is a reflex instead of a conscious choice. Don't know what to do on a Friday? How about the pub! Bored? Pub! Weather nice? Pub!

This is really apparent in the summer when the weather is nice, and when I cut out booze for November, pub spend plummeted (why go if I can't drink)

Interested in other takes on price experimentation à la Instacart.

Economics or is there something more fundamental we miss in this kind of experimentation
Is it economics? Sure, they are estimating an elasticity. Is that a justification? Maybe.

A few things to start: groceries are claimed to be low margin, so price optimization is understandable. Moreover, I was a bit fast to call this discrimination. It was, after all, random.

Allie bought these vegan stake bites.

A bit chewy but made fantastic stake substitute in my impromptu steak and egg sandwich.
