Digital refugee.
I find it disgusting that the Premier can find time to introduce legislation to enshrine a right that already exists but can't find the time to introduce legislation to ensure people can afford to eat. Or live.

Dear Mr Carney: if I need to make sacrifices, I will, but it can't just be me.
Galen Weston must make sacrifices.
The Irving Family must make sacrifices.
The Sobeys, the Desmarais, the Rogers - they must too.
If we are all in this together, prove it. Make the wealthy pay their share.

@novascotiapower.bsky.social when is a good time to call to set up service - I've tried 3 times in the past week but keep having to hang up after 15 - 20 minutes on hold as I work during the day and your call centre closes at 6pm

313 PM. Little traffic. Bus now 10 minutes late. I've lived in Halifax almost 2 years now - I ride a bus at least 2 times per week. Not once - not ONCE - has a bus arrived on time when I have waited for one. I don't know whose fault it is but it's kinda pathetic.

Into hour 3 with Microsoft tech support. So far they have deleted my entire email account (Oops!) and have told me that they straight up don't know why I can't share my outlook calendar. But can they help me with anything else..?

Honestly- if the Chinese really wanted to take over all they have to do is create a better Teams or Outlook. I bet millions of hours are lost or wasted by people trying to figure out simple things on those platforms.

A months-long investigation estimates that the profits from the Trump family's ventures in private clubs, hotels, golf courses, crypto currencies, NFTs, and other businesses has raised President Trump’s net worth by billions of dollars.
How Much Is Trump Profiting Off the Presidency?
A comprehensive estimate of how much Trump and his family are making, from hotel mega-deals to crypto schemes, has been elusive—until now.

The 'service' usually includes at least one broken washer and/or drier. We pay $5 a wash - and have to pay a fee (now 25c higher) to load our laundry cards. Not quite sure how this fee improves service.

20 years since that terrible day. Waiting for news about my then husband - everyone glued to their radios and TVs - those first awful pictures of the bus. And just a few days after the exciting news we'd got the Olympics. Thinking of those whose lives changed forever that day.

Income based credits - perhaps - but couples can also achieve lower overall income tax liabilities in how they report their earnings, claim credits, and pay into RRSPs, etc, that are very lucrative indeed.
I don’t think that’s the case. In fact many benefits (GST credit, Dental Care Plan) are based on household income so couples are often worse off (tax/benefit wise).

Denmark’s fast and focused approach gets things done.

And that’s exactly the kind of mindset Europe needs right now.

An urgency mindset.

Deeply disappointed Carney and Co have decided to cave. We desperately need to tax extractive tech companies. Now we've said goodbye to billions in revenue and shown Trump we too will alter our plans if he blisters enough. So much for 'sovereign nation'.

This must be followed up by Carney and co as an urgent matter.
The authorities are investigating the death of a Canadian citizen who died Monday in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency said in a statement.

The man, Johnny Noviello, 49, is the 10th person to die in ICE custody this year.

Not an Iran apologist, but why would anyone think they would be open to diplomacy while they are being bombed? Also I'd sleep a lot more comfortably knowing both the US and Iran did not have nuclear weapons.
