In early April 1820, what could have been a significant uprising occurred in the West Riding of Yorkshire, It was closely linked to unrest in the west of Scotland, particularly around Glasgow and the aftermath of the "Peterloo" trials. The unrest unfolded in several towns. 1/3

17 December 1819 Mary Heys died. Four months earlier, while pregnant, she had been trampled by cavalry at the Peterloo Massacre Manchester, resulting in severe bruising, daily fits, and ultimately her death giving birth prematurely.

If you came to the Peterloo commemoration on 16 August you may have signed a petition to the council asking to add an anti-mould treatment to the annual cleaning of the memorial.
