#BrokenPromises

I’m not actually sure which is worse:

Cutting the real value of BP pensions by 11% for obscure reasons (to boost bosses’ bonuses?).

Or refusing to meet pensioners to discuss why the value of BP pensions should or shouldn’t be protected, and can be - without costing BP a penny.
WE ARE STILL HERE

@bp_plc - No meetings. No apologies. No justice.

But BP pensioners aren’t backing down. We’ll keep going until this is resolved – one way or another.

📣 The BP Pensions Matter is NOT Closed.

At the April 2025 @bp_plc Annual General Meeting, shareholder pensioners spoke out as their pensions have dropped by 11% due to BP breaking long-standing pension promises.

The company’s response? “The matter is closed.”

It’s not.

Since 2022, BP pensioners have been raising concerns over the company’s refusal to honour long-standing commitments for cost-of-living increases on pensions - adjustments that wouldn’t cost bp a penny.

BP’s reasons given for denying these increases just don’t add up.

I never liked Jenrick though I could say the same about quite a few Conservative MPs - there used to be some good Tories but Johnson purged them because they were mostly pro EU

It's all about them - keeping power to keep the wealth where they want it ie mostly with their own economic class

Bernard Looney has resigned as CEO of BP. Meanwhile BP pensioners are 11% behind inflation, and wondering whether the CEO’s departure will help BP “do the right thing”.
