I am 65 years old. Because of what I was taught in school, I truly believed that if the US ever was in danger of being overthrown by a dictator from within, by fascism, the checks and balances of the government would stop it, and if that failed, the people would rise up and physically stop the coup.

The sheer scale and positivity of the most recent No Kings protest has, for the first time since all of this started, given me the beginnings of a feeling of real hope.
If Americans can keep doing this, bigger each time, Trumpism, MAGA, and the GOP will be defeated. We could regain democracy.
