Doctors and scientists should speak louder than ever to make their voices heard by the public. Science is being attacked and even some of the most important scientific discoveries (e.g., vaccines) are in great danger.

This is such an interesting and important study to show that ‘passenger’ mutations, which are highly abundant in many cancers, are not really useless. They actually represent a potential vulnerability for targeted therapy.
Tumour cells accumulate ‘passenger’ mutations that can interfere with how their proteins work. The mechanisms they use to balance these potentially harmful mutations could be useful targets for cancer treatment.
