British lifelong artist, sometime teacher. Living in south west France. Member of The French pastel society. I paint mostly from life and sometimes from dreams.
A little village in The Lot region of france. There was a chateau here once. Most of the stones were looted and now the woods are beginning to engulf everything. Pastel. 40x30cm.

'Danaé and the shower of gold',
is a pastel painting I made a few years ago. It's a subject which gave me the excuse to play around with light and shadow on the body. #figurativepainting #artonbluesky #painting #fineart

Our little local lake. Someone asked if they could look at what I was doing, which I thought was ironic in the circumstances. #pleinair #oilpainting #notAI #artonbluesky #bathers #oiloncanvas #paintingfromlife

I always approved of finding individuality in art by working from life. My niece posed for this in her wedding dress. I had fun with a broad brush and impasto on the dress.

I don't want to go back to Zuckerberg's Instagram and Facebook. But where the hell are the contemporary, figurative painters on Bluesky?

Portrait of a man. A friend posed for this pastel. I wanted to capture his depth. Faces fascinate me. #portrait #humanity #kindness #artist #art #livingpainter #life #pastel #pastelartist

Here's a new pastel. This post isn't about words, I'm looking for other painters to share work and with. Are they there on Blue sky?
