My 90-minute portrait study last night at a Coppini Academy of Fine Art open model session. I painted thicker and quicker on this one, letting the paint texture add character to the face.

I often find I can learn as much about oil painting from a watercolor as I can from an oil painting, and this work by John Singer Sargent is no exception.
