Without an end to the armed conflict that drove them away from home, they can’t return to their territories. The Emberá dream is to be able to go home. Until they are able to return to their territories, they deserve just and dignified living conditions in the cities they seek refuge in.

Just 2 km from the Colombian Presidential Palace, over 1,800 Emberá people, displaced by armed conflict, are living in dangerously overcrowded conditions meant for only 450 inhabitants.
