Sometimes the best way to face and sort out life difficulties is to take a break and read some metaphysics. Beside philosophical counseling I offer one-on-one philosophical tutoring too. www.lradenovic.com/tutoring.html

This is a piece I wrote early in the summer. It's on the sublime in Knut Hamsun's Pan. Those who subscribed to my Patreon page have seen it already but now it's open to everyone interested. Hope you enjoy it!

Scenes from a marriage 😄
Me to hubby: Look, I got us this Zink/vitamin C supplement. You should take it too. It's good for immunity.
Hubby: Nah I don't believe that it works but ok.
Me: But you should believe! If you did it would work.

The Old Masters: how well they understood
Its human position; how it takes place
While someone else is eating or opening a window or just walking dully along

In Hamsun's Pan Lieutenant makes a note that Edwarda wears the same dress & shoes as the day before but has a new hat ... and now I am worried that men have been lying to us all this time how they do not notice & do not care about such things. 😅

Is 'awfulizing', i.e. reasoning from bad to worst a fallacy? 😁
a) Yes, except for Slavs
b) No, Slavs are right

There is this part in Andrei Rublev where he is asked to paint the judgment day but time drags on & he never starts & one of his co workers complains how they could have finished it long time ago all with demons, smoke, & fire. And Andrei shouts: But that's not the point!
