Before he was an icon of Canadian television on @tvotoday.bsky.social, "Saturday Night at the Movies" host Elwy Yost had a column in AVRO Newsmagazine. He worked in their personnel department from 1953 until 1959.
A column called "Hear-See," a parody of the phrase hearsay. It shows an illustrated picture of a talk show host at a desk, a DJ, and people in Edwardian costume.

In 1894 a young girl memorialized her visit to the site of the Battle of Queenston Heights. Major-General Sir Isaac Brock died in this 1812 victory against invading Americans which helped establish Canadian self-identity.

The #Toronto Suburban Railway stretched from Keele and Dundas to #Guelph, straight through Peel, including parts of #Mississauga and #Brampton. Here's one of their vehicles going over the Humber River.
A streetcar-like vehicle with no overhead wires, passing along a bridge over top of a relatively deep valley, probably 40 feet up. The land around the route is largely undeveloped.
