Our friend the Bankor Toad is the largest toad in Taiwan! In some cases, the larger females have been found nearly eight inches long! They are closely related to the Asiatic Toad, Bufo gargarizans, but for now are considered a separate species! (photo by 林正文)
A tan colored toad with a wide black and rusty red stripe down their side! They also have some darker brown patches on their back and legs! They are covered in large spiny bumps and have large, very prominent parotoid glands! Their eyes are very red!

Agate is common in the basalt flows of the Jurassic Period here in Nova Scotia, which form the spectacular hills around the Bay of Fundy. Agate became the provincial gemstone of Nova Scotia in 1999.
