A friend commissioned a 30" continuous Byzantine chain for the pendant he bought over the summer. Mangled the hell out of the final ring up towards the top because the space was too tight for even my smallest pliers 🙁 Thankfully it doesn't show, and grateful that my friend doesn't mind.

Yesterday my spouse and I escaped the 100+ degree heat by staying inside and replaying couch co-op Divinity Original Sin all day. It and its sequel are probably our favorite couch co-op turn-based RPG; I think this is our 3rd or 4th playthrough. Always a fun time!

Continuing our Dark Shadows rewatch and had to pause during an episode. We hit the pause button as Laura Collins (the Phoenix) was sitting in front of a fireplace, and noticed we just happened to catch the flames in a vague phoenix shape. A fun coincidence; couldn't have timed it better! 😄

Made a couple of bracelets as teacher thank yous, each in a color scheme the teachers like. I always panic a little when making bracelets as gifts for other people, because I have to guess at how big to make them and worry they won't fit. At least the one on the left is stretchy...

(Kinda blurry) close ups of the two most recent necklaces I made using kits from Blue Buddha Boutique. I'm going to offer them to my daughter's school for their yearly auction (last year I made dice bags). Pastels are generally not my thing, but I'm really loving BBB's pastel rings.

One of these days I will learn that obsessively refreshing the tracking status on a package will not help the package to arrive any sooner.

Proud of my son for getting his drivers license! Now he can drive himself home after his midnight shifts which in turn means I'll be less sleep deprived overall. We both win 😄

Hearing the joyful, boisterous laughter from the next room as my gen z son introduced his gen z friends to M.U.L.E. on an Atari 400 mini made me so very happy (it's one of my all-time favorite games). They genuinely loved it and plan on playing again the next time they're over :D

The indignity of being woken up from a sound sleep, stuffed unceremoniously into a carrier, and hauled off to the vet for a routine check up. So rude! He is clearly plotting his revenge.

(Check up went great; he's relatively healthy for 14!)

Some of my earliest memories are of listening to The Doctor Demento Show with my family. My sincere thanks to the Doctor for the countless hours of demented fun he brought to us all. I hope he enjoys his retirement to the fullest ❤️

just a reminder that only water goes in your eyes, don’t wear contacts to a protest if you can help it, hot showers will hurt like hell if you have mace or gas residue on your skin. turn off face ID on your phone. pick a buddy & never leave their side. if detained, ask for a lawyer & then shut up.

There are some well-meaning organizers who have set up FB events and the like for protests against Trump's traitorous regime. Do NOT RSVP to a protest on social media! Don't help the fascists by creating handy opposition lists for them to hoover up. This is the 21st century so fight smarter.

This is a fun watch! And, it got me thinking about some ideas for my vintage Star Wars bed sheet and pillow cases that have been sitting lonely in a closet for decades 😊
I need YOUR HELP!

I love making fun little videos like this, but to make this sustainable to live on I need you to share it with a friend, your mom, your neighbor anyone who would enjoy it. Bonus! Sharing costs nothing but a moment of your time.

THANK YOU

Made myself another 18th century-style pocket, this time with the vintage fabrics from a charm pack from @stephaniecanada.bsky.social 's www.backroomfinds.com . Everything but the sashing is vintage fabric, and I've got enough squares left to make at least two more pockets in different color ways 😄

Applying bias binding and lost a game of bobbin chicken <5" away from the finish line. Refilled the bobbin and finished sewing only to hate how it looked. Ripped the whole thing off and will start over. I know I'm still very much a beginner, but thus far bias binding and I do not get along at all.

Our beloved Chaos turns 14 today! He's still quite energetic and playful, although he also demands much more lap time than he did when he was younger. And yes, he absolutely lives up to his name :)

I don't quilt, but my current small sewing project uses some quilting techniques. Lesson learned: when using ribbon as sashing, start with a _full_ roll of ribbon, and have more on hand than you think you'll need. *sigh* Guess who needs to buy more ribbon...

Menopause and a double mastectomy cranked my body image issues to 11, so I appreciate these reminders. I might need to print them out and pin them to my closet door.
Just a reminder that you can and should wear whatever you want to wear!
