Interesting to see so many great British patriots right now begging an American president to bankrupt one of Britain’s last remaining truly national institutions.

I think the sycophantic behaviour of Farage and the right wing towards Trump over the BBC issue, is a massive miscalculation.

Good or bad people have an affinity for it.

Hopefully the BBC will stand strong and Farage will suffer badly

We talk about patriotism but she’s a former PM.
This perfectly encapsulates why we need the BBC

Hate what trumps doing to the BBC but this sums up my issue with it. They get lost between right and wrong , good and bad, in the search for impartiality

Have written for the New Statesman about why, if he will not accept an apology, the BBC should welcome a Trump lawsuit. They should show guts and fight it because impartially matters and if they don't, they will have tacitly accepted a rewritten history.

Reform and the far right wing trying to bring down independent media, talk about patriotism a lot.

They are not patriots. They are traitors

This
Trump's White House & fawning hacks here don't really care about the 0.001% that the BBC gets wrong. They care about all the stuff it gets right.

Excellent overview of the right wing influence at the BBC

Doesn’t make me alter my opinion that the bbc needs to go commercial and merge with itv (before Comcast gets it), channel 4&5, with guardrails. It’s the only way to compete and ensure the UK has a global voice.
The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

The BBC isn't perfect, but it belongs to Britain not Trump.

Political leaders across the UK must unite in defending its independence from the White House.

It seems Trump now controls the UK media.

Haven’t seen many resignations over the years from Fox, or in the UK, GB news

The BBC resignations just plays into the hands of the right wing nutters

There will be increased pressure to give equal validity to lies over truth under the pretext of impartiality

Utter nonsense, and that’s the real crime the BBC have committed here - giving the extremists a voice

A lot of noise about the upcoming budget, and meaningless waffle from the chancellor, but rather than criticise I thought I'd stick my neck out and give my 10 top level ideas for getting things moving.

Uk gov is confused

On EV’s they want us to switch from petrol but float tax per mile for EV drivers

On pensions, they want us to save but float the idea of increasing pension saving tax

It’s desperate stuff.

We can’t have ITV taken over by another USA company. We really are becoming just another USA state

The BBC should become commercial, merge with ITV and channel 4 to create a UK media company that can compete globally against Comcast, YouTube etc
