Over the last few years, I’ve been encouraging the counselling students I’ve worked closely with, to ‘soften often’ in their own practice.

Hi! We are ‘therapists against conversion therapy and transphobia’- a group of ppl (mostly therapists) who think that trans/queer identities are valid & all clients should have space to explore that if they wish to in therapy #TherapistsConnect #LGBTQ #therapy

I’ve been reflecting that the practice and theory of experiencing unconditional positive regard (as an integral attitude of PCE therapy, wider modalities of therapy and simply being human) needs to be offered more unconditional positive regard within the profession and between humans in general 💛🙏
