I’ve never done one of these, but I just sat down for an hour and crunched out some thoughts based on the current landscape we’re in. Overall, they’re pretty ridiculous and maybe overly optimistic, but I’m excited to return to this at the end of the year!

Happy New Year! 🎉 2025 was a doozy. So much happened and so fast I can’t even unpack it all. But I don’t really feel a need to since my entire year was spent in deep thought and self-reflection.
Things are pretty bleak, but I hope stuff will turn around in some unexpected way this year…

My Saiga-12. Pretty much final form. I wanna find a really low profile mLok light that feels good to grip, replace the OKP glass with lexan, and give it some kind of cool paint job too, but this is it!

Read this string. It's a very interesting thought on how the internet should be treated. The Amazon outage put the company I work for out of business all day and we missed out on an important deadline that cost us a LOT. "Bummer."

The latest Cloudflare and Amazon outages have got me thinking about utilities. We can't build modern software without dependencies. The days of running entirely on the client are over, which I see as a good thing. The cost is that we rely on infrastructure.

Oh! My current plate carrier is Lancer Tactical. Most comfortable I've ever used until getting my new Shekkin RAV. But I don't think it'll be replacing it. I'm gonna keep both.
Even the Novritsch plate carrier I wasn't a fan of the fit.

Oh! My current plate carrier is Lancer Tactical. Most comfortable I've ever used until getting my new Shekkin RAV. But I don't think it'll be replacing it. I'm gonna keep both.

That overnight event was awesome! First pic is me planning an early morning ambush maneuver on an enemy VIP with my squad. The light reflection of our fire was so well hidden, opfor never found our base, we did a late night cache retrieval boat mission and I got in some riot shield action!

Is Socialism the way forward? Idk. I'd like to return to the glory days of Capitalism, but we're in the end game. People are realizing that - as fair and free as it is - it seems to have an expiration date same as Communism. It isn't resistant to succumbing to corruption.

Had an overnight game this weekend and being this late in the season, it was 30F (-1C) at night. Holy moly I would’ve frozen if I tried to hunker down and get some sleep. So instead I just stayed up patrolling and pestering the enemy patrols and their base. Great event! My body is wrecked.
