If you like my work, take a look at my main photography prints page: my very best work from over the years, with a formal poster presentation. Lightning, mountains, national parks, supercell storms, and more. Check out my Darkroom store page here connorsipephoto.darkroom.com
It's national take a hike day! Other terms for going outside that are also dismissive insults are "get lost" and "go touch grass"

The channel is for aurora now
November 15, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Wednesday night's aurora from northeast Ohio once the clouds finally broke, a consolation prize for missing the big one the night before. At 18mm those were some serious pillars during substorms

I'm seeing lightning signatures pop up on Nexlab GOES kinda evenly distributed around the northeast and mid-Atlantic in areas with clear weather, I wonder if that's an effect of the geomagnetic storm

Man, this part-time job I landed turned out to be really really part-time. On a related note, all these photos and more are available as prints in the 2025 Collection on my Pixels/FAA page here: 3-connor-sipe.pixels.com/collections/...

All those big tough defenders of America with their tear gas and tactical gear had to make sure the guy standing around doing nothing was subdued before they could move in
It’s clear who the aggressors are. Keep remaining nonviolent, and record EVERYTHING. All of these masked ICE thugs will be held accountable.

I'm considering some dramatic reading YouTube videos with excerpts from my self-published book, TORNADO COUNTRY: The History of Oklahoma's Violent Weather.

I picture some original music and sound effects but I have no idea if it would attract any viewership.

For Halloween I want to shout out one of my big early influences toward nature photography from when I was a kid, the game Slender: The Arrival. It's a horror game from years ago but I still think about the mountain and forest scenery when I shoot and edit landscapes

My spookiest photos, I'm on Halloween until December 5 at least

I've started writing the follow-up video to UNPREDICTABLE: The Pennsylvania Tornadoes of 1985, on a related local weather history subject. I want to give it as much effort as the first one, including expanding on the original musical score, digital recreations, and the works

I’ve got another weather history video I want to make in the near future. Here are some indecipherable hints about what the topic would be
October 25, 2025 at 12:00 AM
Caught some moody, rainy fall scenes I was hoping for around Cook Forest State Park along the Clarion River in northwest PA yesterday. The foliage was really chaotic and strange with some trees still green and many others already bare but I think it still looked great

SCOOP from me:

I uncovered that the Interior Department just quietly defunded *two* multimillion dollar research programs studying how whales move and behave near U.S. wind farms actively being built.

Trump blames wind turbines for whale deaths, then cuts vital research on the topic. 🧵

Personally I have yet to see any truly compelling evidence for Zeldin's existence and it seems completely obvious that all claims in support are grossly exaggerated for political gain #LeeZeldinIsAHoax
EPA Commissioner Lee Zeldin announces his agency is launching a major investigation into the right-wing conspiracies about chemtrails and weather manipulation to get to the bottom of it.

Stupid is as stupid does: AI2ES, an NSF research institute to explore the use of artificial intelligence in the earth sciences, was terminated by OMB because it “wasted taxpayer funds to place climate change hysteria in AI models.” Alan's take: "it strikes me as completely insane."
NPR ran a story last night about NSF terminating funding for AI focused meteorology research & the (IMO) insane explanation they got from OMB. I shared my perspective on this and our continued insistence to shoot ourselves in the foot when it comes to scientific R&D. tinyurl.com/2kzujwz8

My day trip to Ohiopyle State Park in southwest PA this week might be my best photography day all year. Though the foliage was thinned out, there were still some spectacular yellow colors, especially hiking up and down the creek hollows.

The first few edits from my day trip to Ohiopyle State Park in southwest Pennsylvania this week. Despite the drought-stricken foliage, the colors still turned out fantastic in some areas. I shot tons and tons of stuff and there's a lot more to get through
