Everyone should hug like this Koala in Brisbane hugs. Absolute beauty at Whites Hill Reserve, Brisbane. Amazing to have a healthy population in a relatively small suburban park.

Ancient tree at Walton Gardens this afternoon. Probably stood there before my parents or my parents' parents were born and will be there long after I've gone.

Biggest choice of the day is do I go for a walk (which I know will be quite muddy), or do I get on the exercise bike for an hour? Honestly, I can’t be bothered seeing people today so I’m favouring the latter. Kills me though. I can’t get off till I’ve spent at least 400 calories. It’s not easy.

GOTHIC YULETIDE Here is Krampus Kat for #Caturday to remind you that we are close to the 1st December and #GothicYuletide. Really looking forward to posting some seasonal gothic content this year! Every tree needs a Krampus Kat - beautifully made by @kayleighradatus.bsky.social

Filming locations fascinate me. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is on the telly, so I do what I always do. Wiki where it was filmed and see if there’s any YouTube vids showing how these places look now. So often ruined by traffic, road signs and painted road markings these days.

Even in winter, the wood whispers to tramp its paths. Its Sprites and Woodwose may sleep through days demanding our heaviest coats, but its mysteries do not. Bare branches scratch the low sky and still its mysteries sing. We walk for wonder. We walk for cold magics. – #EmilyCBanting, 1981

Another pre-6am start to the day. Don’t know what’s going on with my sleep pattern lately. It’s all over the place. I shouldn’t be waking up every 2 hours.

I’m a glutton for punishment. I was complaining this morning of early Christmas fatigue and 4 hours later I’m walking around a garden centre.

Among its many magical uses, hag stones, witch stones, and fairy stones are known for protecting homes from evil spirits, pigs from swine-fever, milk from turning sour, and sailors from witches clinging to their ships.

Admittedly I’m watching Xmas cooking shows on Food Network every day, but I’m starting to feel a little ‘Christmas fatigued’ and we’re not even into December yet!😆 It’s that familiar argument of it all starting too early these days. Halloween over, the decs go up.

Never got to Filey, but this is so evocative to me. Those extended family holidays to Butlin’s when we were kids were just fantastic. The nostalgia almost makes me forget how bad the chalets were at Pwllheli.

Bloody curry/turmeric stain on my kitchen floor. Tried everything. Even bleach won’t shift the bugger. God knows how long it’s been there. Hadn’t noticed it before, but I notice it every time I walk in now.😠

At dawn on the 26 Jan 1969 a very large panda head appeared on a chalk hillside in Laverstock near Salisbury. For years whoever carved it remained a mystery. Eventually some university students owned up to the stunt.
Having fallen into disrepair, the fading features are being overtaken by nature.🐼
