5E rules savvy types, is this variant monk ability underpowered? overpowered? just-enough-powered? Ysgard style - monk practitioners of this technique substitute Thunder damage for Force damage with their Empowered Strikes ability.

I'm working on a list of elvish proverbs and wondering if the last two comments here are a little too cute. What say ye? (Chondathan is one of the major human languages of the Forgotten Realms)...

"You can eat a seed, but it won't make a tree out of you."
Amra's commentary: The meaning is, I hope, obvious.
Kenya's commentary: I once saw a dead goblin with a tree growing out of his stomach.
Amra's commentary: A tree might make something out of you, but that still doesn't make you a tree.

New podcast, episode 236, "Capitol Conspiracy" with screenwriter Richard Pierce.

We get stuck in on this Don "the Dragon" Wilson classic, but beforehand we talk about Rich's experiences as a screenwriter, and the good ol' days of taping movies like these on cable.

Latin speaking folks, would 'continuandum' be the proper Latin form of 'to be continued' (as at the end of a short story that's part of a series)?

STRAIGHT INTO MY VEINS

This show is 100% low budget X-Files ripoff nonsense but I’ve fallen in love with it somehow.

D&D folks - I'm trying to figure out what 'spheres' the nine muse-equivalents of the elves might be. So far I have poetry, history, music, dance, drama, astronomy & astrology, magic and philosophy. I need a 9th category and I'm blanking on it. Any ideas? Help me!

D&D/Realms lore buffs… help me! I’m starting to plan a Realms short story set in the Plane of Ice (the border with Air, specifically) where the third act revelation is that it takes place before the Crown Wars. What are some subtle ways I can hint it’s the very ancient past here?

The White Reindeer (1952)
A hunter spots his quarry on the snowy, Finnish landscape. The white reindeer stands still, watching as he raises his rifle – takes aim – fires. The rifle explodes; the hunter screams. Through bloodied eyes, he sees that it is no reindeer at all, but rather a beautiful woman who laughs wildly at his misfortune and sends him fleeing across the snow. So goes the pivotal scene of the 1952 Finnish folk horror film, Valkoinen peura or The White Reindeer. The feature film debut of director Erik Blomberg, it was also his only horror film – and one of the first Finnish genre movies.
