Health equity means EVERY child deserves access to preventive care.
If cost or access is a barrier, community health centers and local health departments often provide free/low-cost vaccines and pediatric care.
Let's protect all our kids this season. 💙

Respiratory season is here, and our youngest patients need us.
As a pediatric resident who's worked through neonatology rotations, I've seen how RSV, flu, and other respiratory illnesses can turn serious fast for vulnerable kids.

OU’s HEROES-X biorepository is expanding to better track preterm & full-term infants—adding milk nutrient + maternal health data to spot #NEC, #ROP & #lung disease risks earlier. As a resident trained in OK, I’m proud to see OU shaping the future of #neonatal care. ou.edu/news/article...

Had the privilege of leading Pediatric Grand Rounds at Ochsner Children’s last week. Presented a preterm case that turned out to be a real zebra—a high-grade bowel obstruction from congenital adhesive bands in a 33-weeker. Not your “bread & butter” NICU day.

A new OHSU trial shows that 2 extra weeks of nasal CPAP in NICU can boost lung growth + cut wheezing in preterm infants up to 12 months. Proof that refining what we already have can change outcomes.

New 2025 research shows pediatric providers are uniquely positioned to screen & connect families to resources like WIC.
During my advocacy work with local food banks, I learned: addressing social determinants IS essential pediatric care.

As summer kicks off, a reminder to parents: heat-related illnesses in kids are real—and preventable. Hydration, sunscreen, and shade are non-negotiable. Saw a case of early heat exhaustion this week in clinic—fortunately, caught in time. Stay safe out there! #Pediatrics #SummerSafety #ChildHealth

Presented on ISPCTN & ECHO at our residency journal club @OchsnerKids—programs bringing pediatric research to underserved communities. With NIH funding at risk, we must advocate for their future. Every child deserves access to innovation. #PediatricResearch #HealthEquity

Heard about a measles outbreak at @Sakira’s concert on May 15th, and on the same day, I saw a patient in my clinic whose family refused the measles vaccine. How do you all talk to patients or families who are hesitant about vaccines? #Pediatrics #Vaccines #PublicHealth
