Black History Month is a time to recognize the lived, shared experience of all Black folks who have fundamentally shaped, challenged, and ultimately strengthened America. It’s about taking an unvarnished look at the past so that we can create a better future.

@lew-lgarf3.bsky.social Hi Lew, how are you and Watson? Did you get snow from the Nor'easter? Snow and ice pack still on the ground here with frigid temps. Sick of winter and now we have Feb, my least favorite month - short but drags on. Hope the blues have cleared up.🙂

Thank goodness - every child in detention must be released, sent home and reunited with their family.
Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

While I'm delighted to see Jan go, Feb is my least favorite month. It maybe the shortest, but to me it seems to drag on endlessly. One "holiday", designed to sell chocolates and flowers doesn't redeem Feb.

That’s very kind @aminosbilly.bsky.social notes like yours mean a lot. I shouldn’t need these kind of affirmations, a weakness. But when the alternative is nonstop death threats and calls for my public execution on other platforms, something like this from time to time is reassuring, thank you
In future history @peterhotezmdphd.bsky.social will be revered in autism science as Jonas Salk is revered in polio science. I wish we weren't forced to wait to acknowledge Dr Hotez's knowledge and advocacy.
