A very well written and thorough argument by Henry Zimmer. He excellently portrays the importance of interagency cooperation from the local got the federal level for counter-UAS operations AND the economy of scale issue drone warfare is bringing to bear.
"While the challenges of establishing a southern drone wall are substantial, investing in drone defense at the border can pay dividends for the United States in the long term," argues CSIS Americas Program expert Henry Ziemer.

Continue to keep an eye on the development on unmanned boat systems becoming a more and more dominant component of smaller navies seeking to increase fleet size without increasing personnel number. Similar to the adoption of low cost ISR drones throughout the Sahel and elsewhere.
❗️🇺🇦Ukraine and 🇬🇷Greece will jointly produce sea drones at Greek shipbuilding enterprises.

Part of the sea drones will go to the Ukrainian army, while the other part will replenish the arsenal of the Greek Armed Forces.

A very interesting read by AEI’s @zackcooper.bsky.social where he discusses the value of denial as a strategy. This very topic is something I’ve been personally interested in and have been researching personally for some work to publish in the future.

It’s good to see my home state in the right side of things here. Even if it’s for the time being, at least.

There has been a very concerted effort to demonize academia and intellectualism from certain political agenda vectors. One area has been the disinformationizing of historical revisionism, a legitimate academic practice. As such, I’ve begun working on an article for my Medium blog, Thought Nomad.

I’ve served with both LCDR Bolstad and LT Bain. Fantastic officers, fantastic WTI’s, and an excellent article highlighting the intense effort underway to rapidly improve US naval officers tactical proficiency using proven and commence sense methods.

(1/9) For anyone in the defense and national security circles, the Davidson Window is familiar to you. It is the public estimate that China is likely to invade Taiwan either in the spring or fall of 2027. With the odds of an invasion increasing exponentially as time goes by.

An excellent show and story that definitely inspired an interest to learn more about the history of Hawaii
“We’re a part of America but no one really knows our story,” said Hawaiian actor Jason Momoa while promoting “Chief of War,” his new TV show about Hawaiian unification.
Jason Momoa Schools Hollywood on Hawaiian History
The show-don’t-tell side of Chief of War keeps the series lingering in the mind.

Over the past couple weeks I’ve been reading “On Grand Strategy,” by John Lewis Gaddis and, wow, what an incredible book. Despite my slow pace (life, ya know) it’s a very readable book that just slightly over 300 pages. Any strategic mind, or just someone who appreciates good literature, must read!

Kari Bingen and @csis.org rightly frames #Ukraine as a test of #space in #modern conflict. The #war has made clear that satellites are no longer just enablers—they’re contested terrain.

"The evolving role of the space dimension in modern warfare is reshaping how conflicts are fought and who can influence them," notes CSIS Aeropsace Security Project expert Kari Bingen.

The map (from the AP) relates to the areas where wreckage was found. That’s not an “accident.” That’s not a whoopsy daisy. That’s deliberate and intentional. Whether the targets were Ukrainian or Polish doesn’t matter, it wasn’t an accident.

Otherism is one of the most dangerous action and experience of the human experience. Rhetoric which creates an “us versus them” dynamic leads to dangerous political tribalism which almost always will ultimately lead to violence.

Huge news. This is a significant step in the evolution of #USV employment in the #naval battle space. Let alone the significance of #Ukraine being able to push the SAM WEZ out to the Russian Black Sea coast.

The erosion of truth and the push towards a post-truth society is a scare one. Fueled by systematic disinformation and encouragement towards confirmation bias as the foundation of fact will lead humanity blindly marching backwards into the future, destined to repeat the mistakes of our past.
Future historians are going to have to write: “Listen, I know you’re not going to believe me but I can assure you it really did happen.”

This is a major loss to nonpartisan discourse. I often cited the Wilson Center throughout my graduate studies at JHU and always found their work to be credible, thorough, and without an agenda. That sort of research is important for a healthy debate on foreign policy and security. #Security

Those who see the whole world as a nail that must be hit with a hammer miss the nuances of the slow curing of a strong adhesive. Soft power is an indispensable tool that can achieve strategic aims without the need to place human beings into harms way and, in some instances, can save lives.
The damage to America’s reputation from the Trump administration’s actions around USAID is so great that China and Russia do not have to do anything to benefit from this self-inflicted wound, writes George Ingram.
Why merging USAID into State would undermine U.S. strategic interests
George Ingram explains how efforts to merge USAID into the State Department threaten its independence and U.S. strategic interests.
