This comes too as not only has Huntington Beach appealed their voter id measure to the U.S. Supreme Court but they are also asking the 9th circuit to hear their lawsuit challenging California’s sanctuary policies for Immigrants.

One important note is that if Gavin Newsom vetoes SB 1004 the legislature does have the right to override the veto. Take how gop legislatures have overridden vetoes by democratic governors. My only request is Newsom should negotiate and not point fingers at one another.

Judge Christina Snyder basically ruled that the No Secret Police Act as it was written would violate the supremacy clause. But she did however give one accommodation which is that if the law were to apply to both local cops & ice agents then it could be enforced possibly.
