My biggest tip for coloring is think of it like an equation:
Decide your most important factors, what limits that, what draws attention to that, then build everything else around that.
For instance: This object is the most important and must be orange.

it is very very funny how i've subdued a lot of my haterisms until i'm in the vicinity of any rf kuang book. like i get why people enjoy her but a lot of her writing (*coughs* esp in yellowface) refuses to interrogate her specific brand of high-class academic in a way that's infuriating lmao
