If this is the best argument that Eric Schmidt can give to deny the existence of a bubble in AI stocks, then it is certainly a bubble. (source: www.ft.com/content/da16...)

When you need to justify a mystery (the value of cryptocurrencies), you refer to something else that you do not understand (blockchain). That sentence keeps appearing in article after article without any explanation of why this technology is needed for anything related to payments.

Happy 99th birthday to the man who gave voice to the wild. 🎉

Sir David Attenborough, thank you for a lifetime dedicated to the natural world, and for sharing its story with wisdom, wonder, and grace.

You've inspired generations to fall in love with nature.

Big Tech companies including X, Meta, Apple and TikTok should be aware the bloc is ready to enforce its full digital rulebook no matter who is in charge of these firms, the European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen told POLITICO.

I had an excellent call with President von der Leyen about the road ahead for Canada-E.U. trade.

Canada and Europe are strong, reliable partners. In a shifting global economy, that matters more than ever. We’re ready to secure new transatlantic business opportunities together.

OPINION: An increase in EU defense spending and measures to strengthen the euro are constructive ways to help the US lower its trade deficit.

And with the potential to yield benefits for both sides, it’s the exact opposite of a trade war.

fascinating piece:

Big Tech's embrace of Trump is a sign of its weakness when confronted w determined state action - Brazil/EU.

timely reminder that the state is capable of disciplining capital, and has constantly tried to do so since 2008 for transformative purposes

No one in 2021, including the Oracle himself, predicted the full economic consequences of a war in 🇺🇦 or multiple further waves of a raging global pandemic. That these things happened, & prolonged inflation, does not mean “team permanent” was right in 2021.
It was always transitory. Nothing we've seen has vindicated the mechanisms/predictions of "team permanent" or anything The Oracle of Summers actually said in 2021-22. Again, you don't have to believe me. You can just read what folks like @t0nyyates.bsky.social were writing back then: t.co/zXoEMHilWu

... I'm not hopeful we'll build a more resilient economy. Hello, housing shortage. Or develop targeted tools for extraordinary price increases in crises. Maybe the Rescue Plan, which gave temporary support and revved up the labor market is the best we could've done? Even if it wasn't good enough.
