Life is a game 🎮
Once you internalize what Wittgenstein said in his later work, almost all philosophical confusions resolve immediately.

We keep searching for true essence of things, not realising that words are simply evolved tools to communicate intent.

I review a lot of assignments for @lossfunk that sound impressive on paper, but when I get on a call to understand more, the applicant can’t explain much.

Don’t do this.

The first person you fool by automating thinking if your own self. LLMs give a false sense of understanding.

The best antidote to your work being ignored is to internalize that the majority value is in producing the work, and not in the momentary dopamine rush of being noticed.

Consider work as its own reward and you’ll never be disappointed.

An introvert’s happiest moment of the day:

When a scheduled meeting gets canceled.

Weirdness of an argument isn’t an evidence for it being wrong.

It sounds weird that clocks slow down near massive objects, but it checks out.

Similarly, human extinction by ASI sounds outlandish, but we ought to pay attention to it when experts start sounding an alarm.

Work hard, if you really have to.

But know why you’re working hard. And keep re-evaluating those reasons from time to time.

Fetishization of hard work creates toxic culture, and robs humanity of everything that’s important for a happy life - health, play and relationships.

Only four moats will remain relevant in future - data, compute, distribution and regulation.

Self-sabotaging beliefs:

“I can’t learn math”

“I am not into fitness”

“I am shy”

I _________.

Before creating superintelligence, Meta should teach its dumb AI that it cannot set reminders and shouldn’t promise so.

Honestly, the inability to do something as simple as this on WhatsApp is a lost opportunity.

It's easy to fool oneself with exercise.

Yes, your favorite exercise is better than nothing.

But...

Humans needs:
- Cardio (heart, metabolic health)
- Strength / power (muscle, bone, function)
- Mobility (adequate pain-free range of motion in key joints)

The colors we can name in our language is influenced by what ripe fruits and edible objects can we find in our ancestral environment.

Talk about your ideas everywhere you can.

Articulation sharpens thinking and feedback fuels motivation.

Our world is less meritocratic than we’d like to believe.

Privilege is often hidden either in genetics, inheritance or upbringing.

I think there’s a short window of opportunity for a new social network that strictly and provably allows only human generated content.

Zero AI slop. No bots.

I don’t know how this will be done, but whoever figures it has a shot to be future Zuck.

Steal this idea, please.

OK, i love base models!

Not many may know but base models can follow instructions. No separate instruction tuning needed!

See here Qwen-8B-Base. All you do is to use a chat template as prompt for completion and your base model will happily give a response in the *same* format.

Helping people without an expectation of return has network effects.

Your unconditional giving not just helps directly, but it compounds impact by showing that it’s okay to help others without asking anything in return.

After 25 years of age is when the real life begins, because that's when you start self-authoring.

Childhood and early 20s run on scripts from parents and society.

Around 25, agency kicks in & opens a window for crafting your values, projects, and relationships.

Learn both sales *and* coding.

Sales teaches you human psychology and communication, while coding teaches you hard logic and thinking precisely.

Master both, and you become a killer.

Can’t fucking believe it - I finished my first 10k run! 🎉🏃

Slept at 9pm, woke up at 4:30am, ran 1.5 hours nonstop - you can just do things!

Steal this idea.

Reinvent textbooks.

An e-ink based interactive book with AI integrated, where you learn via interactive exercises that you literally hand write an answer to and get immediate feedback from AI.

Watching videos on a digital screen seems passive and eye-hurting.

Evolution is the master algorithm.

It explains almost everything that survives -> variation, selection, recombination.

Apply it to products, careers, and ideas: run many small bets, expose them to reality, amplify what compounds, kill the rest. Short cycles beat genius.
