I will say that this change is definitely a worthwhile one. I'm sure there are other considerations but including where the account is based on is a big way to combat misinformation...

Especially in the right-wing influencer space...

Much like influencers are required to put #Ad or #Sponsored on their posts to declare when they've been compensated for content.

Any broadcaster/news program should be required to disclose and watermark AI-Generated / 'AI-Enhanced' Video prominently when showing it...or face escalating penalties...

Sorry I’ve been away for a bit. In the process of some big life changes and made social media a lesser part of it too.

Also I’m moving out of NYC today after 15 years.

No loaded reason other than a change of pace, more space and a shorter commute.

Peak male living space.

Truly funny to see that @blizzard.com has actual space on their site to show their games...but instead choose to push Starcraft, Diablo II and Heroes of the Storm 'below the fold' behind a button to actually view lol...

One of the things I hate about Instagram and other social networks is just how much the algorithm dilutes what you want to see.

I spent some time scrolling and found that 1 in 3 posts were from people I followed.

The other 2 were either ads or "Suggested" content

So 60+% of what I'm given is algo

It's funny how Elon demands investigations and makes grandiose claims that it should be illegal to boycott advertising or using a platform that he owns...

While simultaneously demanding people stop using Netflix because he doesn't like the content on that platform.

Reminder, this is literally what Republicans have been attacking "The Left" for.

For context...Bartiromo is *LITERALLY* describing Socialism right now. It's not some revolutionary concept...but has been vilified by politicians for decades here.
BARTIROMO: The idea of government owning portions of public companies -- this is something that free-market have to get their heads around.

BESSENT: Maria, there are decisions that the US government makes that we believe are good for society

Kamala Harris showing yet again that she can't make a real stance on issues. She'd be better than Trump...but it's a sad indictment on politics in the US that our choice in candidates so tightly restrained between Mediocre and Pure Evil.

It's wild that Jimmy Kimmel gets pulled off the air but people like Jesse Watters and Brian Kilmeade get to spout nonsense and stoke hate and violent rhetoric freely.

FYI this is the study the DOJ quietly tried to delete before announcing their crackdown on the "Radical Left".

The results indicated domestic terrorism was more likely to originate from certain groups within the US...and not likely from the "radical left".

Randy Pitchford out here saying "go code your own engine and show us how it's done"...

Fuckin' What? Your studio didn't code your own engine. You took an off the shelf one. When people with God Rigs get half the performance on your game than on better looking other games...that's a you problem

Jeffries showing in real time why he's not the one to lead the Democrats now or ever.
Following Sen. Chris Van Hollen’s criticism of Democratic leadership for refusing to endorse Zohran Mamdani, Hakeem Jeffries’ spokesman mocks: “Chris Van Who?”

For the record...this alleged "they" the right-wing pundits, politicians and supporters keep talking about weren't the ones that killed Charlie Kirk.

So far, all 3 major political violence and assassinations in the US have been performed by home grown, radicalized, White, MAGA supporters.
Clay Travis: "They couldn't out-debate Charlie Kirk, and so they tried to kill him."

20 years in, I can pretty comfortably say that the greatest technological/social change that was intended to do good but ended up causing untold and irreversible harm to humanity is Social Media.

It was a mistake after seeing what it's become and how people have become on it these days.

So if Texas is preparing to arrest Democratic Reps who are in other states...doesn't that set precedent for say New York or California to arrest Gov. Abbott or Gov. DeSantis for human trafficking by sending busloads of people to NY without their consent?

The last time NY did this redistricting they went after safe progressive lawmakers and pushed them out of their districts to allow 'safe, corporate, establishment' Democrats to run in the new districts

This led to the 2020 and 2022 losses of seats in the house from NY and handed Republicans control
Hochul on redistricting: "All's fair in love and war. We are following the rules. We do redistricting every 10 years, but if there are other states that are violating the rules and trying to give themselves an advantage, all I say is I'll look at it closely with Hakeem Jeffries."
