My latest tech foray is (lightly) into SRE work. It's fascinating to see where overlaps occur between SREs and SDETs. If I write a small smoke test for a newly developed endpoint, is that duplicative on a monitoring ping to see if the service is up? Is it worth it to have both?

We had to say goodbye to our sweet big man this past Friday. He got lots of hamburgers, ice cream, other treats, unrestricted access to his moose, a pup cup, and a car ride. You will be sorely missed, Sheldon!

Tech post! A thought my coworker and I came up with: if you have 4-week long test/release cycles, challenge your teams to reduce that to 1 hour. Even if you don't get there, what innovations could you manage? Not revolutionary, but it bears repeating.
