I was incredibly saddened when Rep. John Lewis passed. A giant in American politics. Iconic, really. And I've good cause to wonder how he and others from era of the Civil Rights Movement and the rebellious protests against Vietnam (and Watergate) might frame the dangerous ground we currently tread.

I'm big on teams seizing their playoff spots by the throat. Don't back into seeding off fuzzy math projections and questionable win/loss rates. It's something the NFL needs to reconsider alongside improving the officiating (a rusted can kicked down the road) and rules clarifications (word salads).
