One year ago today, we received our specialized flax harvesting equipment from Belgium! This season, we were able to use it to harvest some of our flax. This is particularly mind-blowing because we are pretty sure that no one in the Eastern United States has used this machinery before.

What does it mean to "ret" your fiber flax?
Retting is a controlled rotting process that breaks down the pectins and separates the fiber from the stem. There are two main types of retting: Dew retting and water retting.
