Writing code for the fun of it. This account is about whatever programming projects you or I are working on.

Been writing mostly in python the last couple of years, thought it would be fun to check out a new language. Giving rust a try. It is very different than python, but I am looking forward to writing some rust programs. Loving it so far.

I wrote a text based game for a class project. It was labeled, 'too complicated' and I received an F on it.

Now you can play it!!!!

So, what I am finding out about archlinux is that everything is working the way it is supposed to with minimal 'experienced Linux user' configuration needed.
It is also very light. Most of the other distros are starting to feel like bloatware.
It has only been a few hours, but I'm a fan.

I have been using Linux for, maybe, 25? years. But I have never tried an arch distro. So, I downloaded manjaro, figured I would give it a shot.

What is the worst that can happen? Maybe release some of the factory installed smoke from the laptop?

I actually have only heard good things.

I'm probably not a great 'content creator', my stories are fairly boring... I spent all day writing code, drank a bottle of wine, and now I'm in bed scrolling bluesky.

Introduction post, which seems to be the thing right now.

Started as a communications, hardware tech in the Navy. Switched to software after getting out. Learned C, Java, Perl, PHP, Python, and a bunch of the web lang, HTML, CSS, JS...

Doing web dev now, python back / jinja, TW, react front.

Sorry, my project is going to be late.

Found the cutest, little, dancing man today.

I've been told that I learn by inundation, and I totally agree. I hate when I have to do anything other than what I am trying to learn. Eating, going to the bathroom, 'fix my computer' calls, are all agonizing. Everything feels like a distraction.

So, I wrote a text-based game for my class. You are a minion for a demented doctor who needs body parts for his experiments. Your job is to sneak around the town collecting parts while evading the cops.

I'm still squashing bugs, but if you want to play it, I'll get it on github.

In a college course I am taking, there is a project to write a text-based game, which I am finding to be quite fun. Making everything functional, and then coming up with a story that makes it fun to play.

I'm in the stage where I just play it repeatedly, looking for bugs.

Thought it would be interesting to share the coding projects that I do for fun, and find out what kinds of projects you do for fun.

I have writing code for years in a variety of different languages. Currently, I am focused on Python.
