Sunday, 12th we're at Louie Memorial Fields in North Hinksey for the annual cut and rake of the fen. It will be wet and muddy, so wellies are recommended if you have them! ⚠️ Only 1 pickup at Cowley Rd 9.30am, due to half marathon 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️ ocv.org.uk

We're in Oxford tomorrow, Sunday 5, at Aston's Eyot, just off the Iffley Road, to resume work on the Shirelake Ditch. The more light that we can let onto the ditch, then the more chance that aquatic plant life will return🦋 OCV.org.uk

Tomorrow, 13th July, we're working close to the centre of Oxford at Longbridges Nature Park removing Himalayan Balsam, as well as cutting back scrub to improve access to the eastern part of the site. 🪲 Join us for some volunteering outdoors! ocv.org.uk #Oxford

Tomorrow, 6th, we'll be at Mathew Arnold Field, west of Oxford, to do some site maintenance. We'll cut back willow regrowth, make some repairs to the existing boardwalk, and clear footpaths. 🦋Join us from 9.15 for a day outdoors 🙌 ocv.org.uk

Tomorrow, 1st June, we'll be at Jubilee Fields at Wootton near Woodstock. We have a bridge to build, and we'll also be clearing fallen detritus from the river. We'll bring waders, rakes, and ropes for the river work, and all the carpentry tools needed for the construction

This Sunday 18th is our monthly trip to Aston Rowant NNR. We’ll be helping to look after one of the flocks of sheep used to graze the meadows, removing matted fleece from their hind quarters and inspecting their feet to see if they need care. 🐑 Ocv.org.uk

This Sunday 4th we will be heading to Milham Ford Nature Park - a watery oasis not far from Oxford city centre. Most of the work will be in the ponds, but dry land work will also be on offer. 🌻 Join us for a sunny day volunteering outdoors! 🐭 ocv.org.uk

Great to have Oxford Conservation Volunteers back in the Valley this weekend. They spent their day digging and winching out boulders of various sizes from the fen. A huge relief since they cause major problems for our scything team!

This Sunday, 9th we'll be working at Pissen Wood, a small private wood near Henley on Thames. We have various tasks on offer: coppicing, processing cut material, making stakes, moving and securing the wire protective cages. 🦌 More info: ocv.org.uk
