Digital illustration on vertical canvas Theme: Fantasy / Dark fantasy, courage, hope, defiance Character: My OC Lubi, he/him, transmasc The piece features a somewhat disorienting perspective, in an unrealistic, wrapped semi-bird's eye view. A knight is place on top of the composition, rendered in a somewhat surrealist, occasionally abstract way, with softly shaded and pitch black shapes following along the anatomy. He is scarcely dressed, wearing only a helmet and a loin cloth. The helmet is in style of a pigface bascinet, with the visor somewhat resembling a heart shape. The top of the helmet is open, a blast of flatly stylized, orange fire coming out of it. The character has a heart-shaped hole in his chest, which is also spewing fire. He is kneeling in a puddle of murky water, in which we see the reflection of two very flat, stylized torches and window above him. He is extending his arm forwards, reaching for a sword on the ground. On the bottom part of the image are two more flat stylized torches, which we view from above. There is a reflection of a blinding vibrant sun below Lubi's reaching hand. The fire, sword, sun and Lubi are coloured largely in orange and blue, with a little pink here and there, while the rest is greatly dull and dark in colour. For the ground texture I used a photo I took of a street in Maribor. I used a photo from TrueRef as a base, and traced it with a lasso tool, bit by bit. The sword might look familiar, as it's made one from the same photo I used in the August piece this year. Did you know why it’s worth using hashtags on here? It’s a super fast way to sort and find posts. You can add them to your bio and if you long press on one you can then get the option to view all the posts from someone when they use it. My ref posts has that and you can see all of them easer.

I don't know who needs to hear this but sometimes a sketch is just meant to be a sketch and not a finished piece.

Not everything has to be a "finished" thing. Maybe the sketch IS the finished version of that thing. If you learned from it, took what you needed, it had its purpose fulfilled.
