This is DNN. Now it's time for a check on the weather forecast here on Dystopian Network News.
Wind, cold temps can change the impact of tear gas and pepper balls, experts say
The chemicals stay closer to the ground and may become less effective, though using tear gas outdoors is questionable practice in any weather.

Yup.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

"[Mamdani] is a 34-year-old democratic socialist with a thin résumé who seeks to tax the wealthy to finance expansive new social programs and who rejects the existence of a Jewish state in Israel. He would also be the first Muslim to hold the office."

According to the web page of the NYT, 7 million people did nothing unusual yesterday. The home page of the Times has zero news articles about the No Kings protest yesterday. Only an editorial even mentions it.

The Times had three choices: promote, report or bury the protests. They buried them.

Looks like the New York Times decided to stop pretending Mamdani doesn't exist. Good article on just how terrific a politician Mamdani is.

Looking forward to New York having a mayor who isn't an embarrassment. First up New York, then Congress and the Presidency.

People keep saying MAGA is not Nazi. They're wrong.
aaand we are officially in the hide-your-neighbors stage
During a military-style raid on a building in Chicago’s South Shore, one resident heard a knock on his door.

It wasn’t the feds —  it was a mom and her 7-year-old daughter, pleading for help.

He let them hide in his unit for the next 3 days.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Farm bankruptcies are back in the news, so it's time to pull this chart out again.

Hey look they kept rising during Trump's first term. Then they went way down under Biden.

Now they're up again? So weird. Thanks Farm Bureau for the graphic

One policy I'd have Congress implement, if your employees qualify for SNAP or Medicaid, then you have to pay the government the cost of those programs.

Companies should not use the government to subsidize their workers.

“Harvard can't use race as a factor in admissions, but ICE can use race as a factor in detentions". Truly twisted times for the U.S.
"Harvard can't use race as a factor in admissions, but ICE can use race as a factor in detentions" is a retrenchment essentially to a pre-Civil War understanding of the Constitution. It's vanishingly few steps removed from "Latinos have no rights which the white man is bound to respect."

Jeffries is no leader. Time to step down.
Q: “The DNC posted in support of Zohran. You’ve met with him twice and still declined to endorse him. Are you out of step with your party?”
