Yesterday Zelensky said that the best way to ensure that peace talks don't happen was to invite him to Moscow! Well I've just read that today, in a speech made in Vladivostok, Putin invited him to talks in Moscow & he's offering "100% guarantees" of his safety but only a fool would accept his word.

It has been suggested that the UK must not give the NHS higher priority than Defence. The Spectator is quoting Mark Rutte as saying that we have a choice between the NHS & conquest by Russia. If taxes were applied fairly to everyone we could afford everything we need.

What has happened to the Strategic Defence Review? The BBC is reporting on the dire shortfalls in our armed forces. The situation seems not dissimilar to the early 20th century, when the Haldane reforms saved us in 1914/15. Today we need something like this to enable us to resist Putin's aggression.

Putin has announced a three day truce for Victory Day around May the 8th. Ukraine had best prepare for continued air assaults on civilian targets. That's Putin's style, never trust him, he's as big a liar as Trump.

Trump is now saying that he's "not happy" with last night's attack by Putin on Kyiv. So Mr Trump show that you've got balls, dump Putin/Russia & give Ukraine all the arms it needs. It's cowardly to do nothing when you have the military power to end it.

1) Stop all talks aimed at a trade deal with the USA.
2) That he asks the king to withdraw the invitation to a state visit.

What's wrong with our govt? Why oh why can't they see that a trade deal with Trump won't be worth the paper it's printed on. He'll break it at the drop of a hat. They should be seriously trying for closer relations with the EU or better still rejoining. They're letting us all down at the moment!

I've just heard that there is talk of Trump being invited to address Parliament, when or perhaps if his state visit comes off. After 14yrs of govts that increasingly used lies to stay in power do we want one of the two, arguably, biggest liars active today to emulate Johnson & spout his lies here?

Trump says that he's in no hurry for a trade deal with the UK. Well I'm not only not in a hurry for such a deal I don't want one. Also I don't want anything to do with a Trump or MAGA led USA.

The Indi is reports Vance as saying that Trump is working hard on getting a trade deal with the UK. Is this a contradiction in terms? Trump is far more interested in playing golf than doing any work, while the impression Vance gives is that he knows nothing. Rejoin the EU & steer clear of the USA.

The BBC is quoting Vance as saying that there's a good chance of a UK/US trade deal. I don't want it, the US under Trump can't be trusted. I've just woken to emails from OVO that my monthly energy payments will rise by almost 19%! I've always paid them the amount they've asked for but they say this is necessary to ensure my account is in the black by March next year. How much will prices go up next? The GOVT MUST do something!!

According to the Indi Trump is insisting that we take chlorinated chicken as part of any trade deal. My message to Starmer & the UK govt is to tell Trump to go & stuff his chicken. Personally I won't compromise on food safety & animal welfare! I don't want growth hormone beef either or GM crops.

Trump thinks that VAT is unfairly charged on imports from the US. But, as far as I can see, VAT is charged on all transactions regardless of where the goods come from. So effectively US goods in this respect are treated the same as UK goods. Starmer would be mad to sign a trade deal with him.

If Starmer accepts a trade deal with Trump he will prove that he's stupid. In his first term Trump signed a free trade agreement with Canada & Mexico, then as one of his first actions of his second term he tore this up & imposed sanctions on both countries. Trump can't ever be trusted again.

Trump says, almost alone of world leaders that Putin wants peace. If he does why has just authorised the conscription of another 160k people. This suggests to me that he has no intention of negotiating a peace. If I realise this why doesn't Trump? Because he's fixated on getting a deal.

According to Politico Trump is "pissed off" with Putin over the lack of a ceasefire & is talking about putting more sanctions on Russian oil. Great but realistically the only thing that might make a difference is giving Ukraine all the arms it needs. But it's highly unlikely that he'll do this.

What I don't understand is why Labour of all parties has to slash benefits? The rich are a little tapped source of revenue. A slight increase, to them, in the taxes they pay could bring in more than enough to keep benefits at the same level. If tax evasion & avoidance were stopped we'd get even more
