Happy US Indigenous Peoples’ Day!! We, Amazigh people, have to remember that we belong to a larger humanity of Indigenous people across the globe. Their struggles have allowed our identity to be reborn, after decades of willful de-Amazighization.

The ISESCO report in 2016 reveals that the problems in education systems and the limited success of literacy projects in SWATA (Southwest Asia and Tamazgha) are attributable to the failure to take into account people’s mother tongues as target languages for literacy and instruction.
