Community group concerned about impact of industrial wind turbines on environment, wildlife, economy and community.
Wind turbine blade failure south of Ottawa in EDPR-operated South Branch project. Will there be an investigation? Will the public be told?

Illustration of fall bird migration this weekend. Ottawa so-called "environmental" groups like CAFES want industrial wind turbines throughout rural areas in the daft campaign for 100% renewables ( the "unreliables"). Wind turbines kill birds, add noise pollution. #environment

Massive wind turbines proposed at eastern gate of Algonquin Park, at Hay Lake, known for scenery, fishing, quiet. Is this "green" energy gone nuts? #onpoli #algonquinpark #nature

Interesting sidebar to Dunrobin Solar project: a resident who was insulting fellow W Carleton residents as "NIMBYs" over a battery storage site now finds himself next to the solar site, and wants help to stop it.

Sault Ste Marie and 3 nearby twps learned last week that a huge industrial wind power project is in the works. No public meetings have been held, and the required website is still password protected. Community engagement? Not here.

View of wind power being forced on communities as depicted by a 10-year-old in Scotland. He gets it: why can't government?

Citizen letter reveals problems with energy approvals and siting in Ontario. An Ottawa MPP says the govt approach is, Find a place and we'll approve it. Citizen concerns not addressed. www.windconcernsontario.ca/2025/05/23/c...
Citizen letter lays bare Ontario energy siting and approval flaws - Wind Concerns Ontario
Ontario rural communities are offered inducements to halt voicing environmental concerns about power developments. There is little respect for citizen concerns.

Protest group Longest Ballot targets Carleton riding in Ottawa for disturbance by putting up dozens of candidates for federal election: 79 running in total including legitimate candidates. Story in today's West Carleton Online. #ottcity

Shetland Islands citizens call for removal of wind turbines due to noise, infrasound and long-term health impacts. Ottawa? Open the door to power developers and hire who to draft new regulations for noise limits? The wind power lobby's go-to engineering firm. Opportunity to protect citizens lost

Area farmers concerned about large battery storage systems: liability for neighbouring farms, loss of good farmland, risk to environment, says report in current Farmers Forum. (Ditto for large wind power sites)

View of recent turbine collapse in Ontario with debris in farm field. This is a safety issue with events becoming more common and what compensation is there for farmers for loss of use of their land?

Ottawa's Energy Evolution policy calls for massive investment in wind turbines, almost impossible to recycle giant blades, "fossils of the future". Noisy, invasive, don't really work and millions of years of garbage. Change it. phys.org/news/2025-03...
Wind turbine remains may be among 'most surprising' fossils for far future generations, paleontologists say
Many of today's everyday items are destined to become fossils after millions of years, but scientists have suggested that some of the most surprising of them might be wind turbine blades.

Signatures on petition asking for West Carleton battery storage be located in industrial zone, not farmland near a village now at 1,070 as of today. @ottawacity.ottawa.ca

Cold isn't it? Power demand is high in Ontario today at 19,000+ megawatts. Where is wind? NOWHERE. Nearby Nation Rise just 4 MW. Not the answer #ottcity

Acoustics professionals (independent ones) recommend substantial setbacks between wind turbines and homes, as in this 2010 paper recommending 1.5 to 2 MILES for safety. Ottawa? We're not going to consider health in our zoning regs. New ones due soon. #noise @ottawacity.bsky.social

This week in wind turbine setbacks: Montana, 1.5 miles; Arizona, 12 miles. Ontario: 550m. Ottawa: has an opportunity to lead in preventing noise pollution, protect health and safety---no new regulations yet. Recommended: 2 km. #ottcity #noise Pic: Brinston ON

Kanata North councillor Cathy Curry claimed in CTV news interview on proposed battery storage that citizen opponents are getting stale info from social media, about 15-yr-old installations. FALSE. Moss Landing, where several fires have occurred, is just 3 years old.

Letter writer to @westcarleton.bsky.social claims local power shortages created need for Time Of Use electricity metering, which is why BESS is a great idea! FALSE! Time of use started in *2008* province-wide. Nothing local about it. Not power shortage.
