Sault Ste Marie and 3 nearby twps learned last week that a huge industrial wind power project is in the works. No public meetings have been held, and the required website is still password protected. Community engagement? Not here.

Acoustics professionals (independent ones) recommend substantial setbacks between wind turbines and homes, as in this 2010 paper recommending 1.5 to 2 MILES for safety. Ottawa? We're not going to consider health in our zoning regs. New ones due soon. #noise @ottawacity.bsky.social
