Yu-Gi-Oh Gx is one those series I can never take my mind out of, hard to forget a series that goes from duelist chimp, tarzan guy and "I broke my leg bone so they replace it with a dinosaur one" to duels to the death, genocide, betrayal and so much shit it makes the protagonist depressed and edgy

I remember thinking the weird route was about ludonarrative dissonance, when gameplay/story don’t line up. Like when the “pacifist” healer still wipes out enemies but still acts all innocent in cutscenes, or when they randomly level up and get new powers without any origin or explanation.
