Alright, the calendars are live. Prices are the same as last year, and to start things off, I am having a promo Saturday and Sunday. I hope you like it, I tried to find photos that look a little different than your regular bird calendar. Feel free to share away 🙂 tinyurl.com/ykvmrhhc%E2%...

The progression of a snow day. It was quite the weather day, we had strong winds and then a lot of beautiful white stuff falling out of the sky. The feeders were quite busy and the Juncos were having a ball.

Filling feeders is a bit of an exercise today. Be safe out there. May we all keep power!

It may be winter and nesting season is far away, but the birds will still check out nesting spots, slowly building a mental inventory of cavities in the area. This is a Chickadee, and I would be delighted to host them in the spring. Last year, they nested in an old pump nearby that

I always like doing these but they are always odd. Here we have I think four calendar pics, then my April Fool's joke, an old Snowy Owl photo and my tattoo. The local wildlife has been a very welcome distraction in 2025, and I hope this continues into 2026. Thank you all for following along ♥️🐦🪶

Today came with a slick surprise - an ice rain that made the trees look very pretty but the outside a bit dangerous. The small feeders quickly turned into seed soup, so everybody happily shared the tree. Ready for soothing sounds of rain and tiny laser swords? #birds 🐦🪶

A merry Christmas and fröhliche Weihnachten from my corner of the world to you with some happy birds in the snow. I hope you are surrounded by good company and great food (also if you do not celebrate this holiday 🙂)🎄

(These are clips from the Birdfy cams, I loved how slightly chaotic they are.)

If you are still looking for a late present or something fun for yourself - may I recommend an Ostdrossel calendar? They come in three sizes and are on sale from the 24th until the 31st of December. And here are the #birds 🐦🪶 (Link below)

It was European day at the pond today, with a large group of Starlings visiting several times. They are very enthusiastic bathers, even in the coldest temperatures, and almost emptied the bath, leaving little for the Pine Siskin flock that came later (I replenished). #birds

It's cold and murky out there, and everybody just seems to try and stay warm and well-fed. So there is not a lot of activity. But some regulars are hanging around taking mug shots, and I am grateful for that. #birds

I kind of felt like this was the case but last night I got confirmation - there are at least two Flying Squirrels around! They are so adorable, I wish they were part of the day crowd too 🥰

Things have slowed down a lot but there are still fun surprises happening. Today, a bunch of Cowbirds showed up! The other day, a Grackle visited. And of course there are now Starlings, too. It's going to warm up tomorrow, but hopefully not all the pretty snow will melt or there's more on the way. 🐦

Good morning with this queen 👑 This is a short little scene but I thought it was so funny how she was all in the center and seemed to unfazed by her surroundings. I slowed things down a bit in the middle. Stay warm and have a fabulous day with good vibes only! 🐦🪶

The day started cold and snowy, and the peanut buffet was busy and diverse. Sadly, though, the Starlings seem to have found it now too. We will have to see how things go, they can decimate a little smear that usually lasts half a day in a minute. #birds

The Flying squirrel was back! It looks a bit shy here but I think it is wary of something. Before all the pessimists come out with predator talk - there was none that I could see. I think there is another Flying Squirrel around. They are so cute, they remind me of The Martians from the Muppets.

The last two photos of my 2026 calendar are befitting right now because both of these birds are very present at the moment. A Goldfinch for November and one of my favorite Junco photos for December. I'll do another sale in the week after Christmas. Shop link is in my profile. #birds

The day started with a snow storm with heavy, wet flakes. The birds were very active, and the Juncos went for it at the peanut butter bar. Here is a very short edit, if you want a 7 minute version of pew pew pews, go to my Youtube channel. (I have so much more footage, I could make a feature 😆)

A fun surprise visitor came today - a lone Grackle! They are usually here between March and October, so seeing one in December is rare. He inspected the bath and also checked out the feeders. Maybe he hangs around for a bit. I love Grack photos with snow in the back. #birds

The electricity company cleared out trees this summer, and since I haven't seen any Flying Squirrels recently, I thought maybe their grounds had been destroyed. However - at least one is here! These guys are so much fun to watch, I am so happy they are still around.

Goodbye to this week and hello to the new week with a calm little Junco. I love all the feather detail around the eye, these birds are just such a joy to have around. We are expecting more winter weather here, and I am delighted because it just gets me more into holiday mood. #birds

More Cardis - the young male is a regular now and trying to find his footing in the community of the yard. The female is an adult (her beak is all red), and always has her male watching over her. I am so happy we have Cardinals here, their colors help with permacloud times ❤️ #birds

I know I am being a bit ridiculous here but I find it totally amazing that you can see their breath here 😆 (around the middle of the clip, I slowed it down a bit). Stay warm, everyone! #corvids 🐦🪶

Trees are habitat, and they can be a great spot to set the scene for winter bird watching. I alternate bark butter with peanut butter, and it is fun to see who comes to visit. There seems to be a fierce battle mostly between Juncos and Nuthatches this year. I like this angle because 🐦

Another very loyal backyard species are the House Finches. I love how the males can come in all kinds of beautiful shades of red and orange (depending on what they eat), and how social these birds are. You barely ever see one by itself. #birds

Swarm knowledge needed. I currently use #Later to schedule posts, and so far I have paid 15 bucks a month for this. I only use it for Meta platforms, and I mostly enjoyed being able to share files between my phone and the computer through it. Now they are raising costs, and I

They are compact, diligent, vocal, adorable little guys who visit feeders year-round and will also nest in the most unusual spots like garden pumps (check my feed for videos from this summer) - Blackcapped Chickadees. 🐦🪶
