Not loving the new ABS system MLB is testing out. It might drive some crazy, but isn’t the fallibility of the human umpires part of the game? Also, if speeding up the pace of play is important, this isn’t doing that.

MPD reports a shooting on the 300 block of Florida Ave. NE, near the NoMa Trader Joe’s. Two officers injured and the “subject also shot.”
Violent crime like this is unfortunately not that unusual in NoMa, one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the city and the country.

MARC service is suspended for tomorrow in addition to VRE. No commuter rail service in the nation’s capital due to forecasted snowfall. Amtrak is also cancelling some trains on the Northeast Corridor.
MARC service is also suspended on all three lines tomorrow due to the weather. The @mtamaryland.bsky.social team will be focused on clearing snow from stations to ensure safe service on Tuesday!

Not sure who needs to hear this, but some of you do:
It’s normal for manned aircraft to have their landing lights on when below 10,000 feet. It’s also normal, and often required, for these airplanes to have red and green navigation lights on the wings. And it’s normal for them to have strobe lights.
