🔬 #imageoftheweek Researchers at MRC CMM are exploring how Trichuris muris (a gut worm infecting 800M+ people) interacts with Candida albicans, a yeast found in most humans. Could they help or hinder each other?

🧫 Today's #ImageOfTheWeek is a dual species biofilm featuring Candida glabrata (pink) & Staphylococcus aureus (gold). These dense biofilms are resistant to antifungal drugs, making treatment extremely challenging.

Free Palestine. 🍉
"The #Nakba continues until today."

77 years ago today, Huda's father was one of more than 800,000 Palestinians forced from their homes when the state of Israel was created.

Today, Huda's neighbours and community are threatened with eviction from the place they sought refuge after 1948. #NakbaDay

Today we report that an engineered skin bacterium, swabbed gently on the head of a mouse, can unleash a potent antibody response against a pathogen. Could lead to topical vaccines that are applied in a cream. @djenetbousbaine.bsky.social led the charge... @natureportfolio.bsky.social 1/55

Hey, #mycosky #immunosky #microsky 👋🏻

Earlier in the year, we published a paper where we found that HPLM (human plasma-like media) induces Cryptococcus neoformans growth that closely represents those morphologies found in vivo 🧫🦠

We provide a description of new in vitro culture condition using the human plasma-like medium that supports the formation of the full range of in vivo cell morphologies of C. neoformans.
